A University Biology Professor kept a rattle snake caged in his laboratory …

When it was time for the reptileís monthly feeding, the Professorís biology class would gather around the cage to witness the event in complete silence. On one such occasion, the Professor said, ìIím jealous of that snake. I never get the classí undivided attention like this.î One of the students answered, ìYou would if you could swallow a mouse.î

Suppose I asked all of you to gather around me and watch me swallow a mouse! Would I have your undivided attention? You bet I would.

Then consider the extreme lengths to which the Lord Jesus went to get our undivided attention. He ìemptied Himself to assume the condition of a slave,î the Apostle Paul tells us. And ìHe was humbler yet,î Paul says, even ìaccepting death on a Crossî (Ph. 2:7-8).

In the desert of Judea, two thousand or so years ago, a voice cried out the Good News of the coming…
